Who  we  are

We recognize that we all are sinners. We need to grow closer to Jesus. We need to love God more. No amount of will power, decisions, or vows will ever be able to sustain that growth that we need. The perfection, love, and closeness God demands of us is impossible.

But the kindness of God our Savior appeared and He sent us His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose again for all mankind. The Bible reveals to us who Jesus is and what He has done for us. Seeing the grace of God through Jesus in His Word is what strengthens our faith, not by looking at Scripture and asking yourself "What must I do for God?" but opening the Word and seeing what God has done for you in Christ.

It is this grace we must never stray from. It is this grace that continually strengthens us in our faith. Growing in grace is remembering again and again what Christ has done for you, and resting in His finished work on the cross, knowing that our sins are paid for. Rather than carrying around a cloud of guilt and shame, we get to wear the perfect righteousness of Christ.

That means we aren't on a sliding scale with God. There aren't good days and bad days, days when we're closer to Christ and days when we're farther away because ultimately, that's not based on my actions but on Christ's actions. We aren't holier today than yesterday. We aren't more acceptable in God's sight today than we were five, ten, or thirty years ago. Because of God's grace in Christ Jesus, we are forgiven and cleansed. We are pleasing and acceptable in God's sight. Even after you let God down and fail to live up to the promises you've made to Him, you are acceptable and pleasing in His sight. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying God is pleased with our sin, God does not tolerate sin, rather, I'm trying to explain the reality of our lives being hidden in Christ. As we trust in Christ Jesus, our heavenly Father is pleased.

We gather each week to be reminded of our need of God's grace, and in so doing, are strengthened in our faith.

We subscribe to the inerrant Word of God and submit to its authority in all things.

We hold to the three ecumenical creeds as faithful summaries of the Christian faith in the Triune God - the Apostles', the Nicene, and the Athanasian Creeds

We believe the Lutheran Confessions are true expositions and presentations of the faith and proclaim the excellencies of Christ and explain the Gospel purely. By Lutheran Confessions we mean the unaltered Augsburg Confession, and its Apology; the Smalcald Articles; the Large and Small Catechism of Luther; and the Formula of Concord.

We believe God still speaks to us through His Word. Hebrews 1:1-2 says: "God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world." God still speaks to us through His Word. We gather together on Sunday mornings not just to come and worship the Lord, but to receive what He has for us through His Word. Each Sunday we examine the truths of Scripture and hear the Word of God proclaimed. We would love to have you join us for worship Sunday mornings at 10:30 am. Come and hear what God has done for you in Christ.
